Harvest day for our Napoli carrots! We direct seeded these carrots back on May 24 and they have certainly loved all the rain this year. Our bunched carrots will go to CSA members and the loose carrots will be headed to Philbrook dining hall!

We’ve been busy this season growing and now we are in the full swing of harvest! Luckily our fields are surviving the frequent rain showers so far.
This week we delivered this beautiful CSA share to UNH’s Marriage and Family Therapy program, harvested a bountiful crop of garlic, found our first tomato hornworms 😩 and saw some new blooms in our wildflower pollinator patch!

This past Monday our class headed to farm https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100068168102764 and received an amazing tour! Located in North Hampton, Governor Dale Farm grows fresh produce, herbs, and flowers using regenerative agriculture practices with a focus on soil health.

Check out the progress on our new raised beds! The ends of our tunnels tend to be very wet so we built a raised bed to help mitigate that problem!

Look at all this compost! Did you know UNH has its very own composting center? The food waste from the dinning halls is collected and brought to our composting facility! When the compost is complete, some of it makes its way back to our high tunnels and we use it to grow more food for the dinning halls!
