The Social Work Department is so excited for Cara Cabral for receiving the University Award on Monday for the “Graduate Student Public Engagement and Outreach Award.”
In her first year, Cara completed her internship with NH Outright, and this year she completed her internship with the MCH-LEND program, continuing her commitment to advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting children, families, and communities.
As she graduates in May, we are so excited to see the difference Cara will continue to make with systems, communities, and clients ahead of her. Congratulations, Cara!

Social Work senior Audrey Bourn presented her senior project at Department meeting today. Audrey took a unique and creative approach to collecting interviews of social workers and reported out her findings. By quilting, she translated lived experiences into something visual and tactile. Quilting is a wonderful way to show individual stories stitched together into a larger, unified picture. And Audrey is donating her quilt to the Department which we will happily display!!

Our senior students have returned the Browne Center having grown immensely as a group (and professionally) since their first visit in fall semester. The challenge increases in the spring as students are given the opportunity to participate in "high element activities", which are challenges installed 20 to 40 feet above ground requiring a belay system for safety. Students (and staff) had a blast today!

Katie Godshall continued her amazing interprofessional work by training the practice SW faculty on how we can best utilize SIM center and then led a brainstorming/mapping session where we began the initial steps of where SIM can be integrated into the practice sequence. Her work with the SIM center is another reason why she received the interprofessional collaboration award this past Thursday. Keep it up!
