Today’s teacher – Ms. Daniels – has spent all 4 of her years teaching 1st grade at Easley! She is another of several teachers who attended Easley as a child. Even her favorite color is purple!
She says her favorite things about being a teacher are laughing with the kids, teaching them about space and reading to them. Walking into her room is an experience of bright colors and positive affirmations!
One parent said, “If I were a student, I’d want to have Ms. Daniels. She is so much fun! She makes learning fun, and she supports students in their extracurricular activities. Parents from other schools are always amazed that a teacher would do that. The kids LOVE her!”
Thanks to Ms. Daniels for all you do!

Today’s awesome Easley teacher is Ms. Wilkerson. She teaches 3rd grade. This is her 10th year at Easley, and she has taught for a total of 13 years. A student said, “Ms. Wilkerson is so funny! We have fun learning and being a class.”
Ms. Wilkerson is quite crafty, and is responsible for many of the murals in Easley’s hallways. She also likes to travel to National Parks.
She is excited for this year’s Graduate Walk because they will be her first group from Easley to graduate. “I love watching the kids grow and challenge themselves. Building those relationships with them and having them know that no matter how long it’s been since they’ve been in my classroom, they’ll always be my 3rd graders, my kids!!”
Thanks to Ms. Wilkerson for all she does!

Those of you who guessed Ms. J’s room are right! Extra points to those who spelled Ms. Jakobczyk correctly!
Ms. J is a 4th grade teacher who loves her dog Bo, the East Carolina Pirates and her job. She has taught at Easley for 13 years, and also attended the school from Kindergarten to 4th grade. She says, “I absolutely love being with the kids and watching them grow! I had wonderful role models. My mom was a 7th grade teacher at CMS for 31 years and my sister was a K teacher at Eno Valley for 21 years. I get to be a part of my student’s education to fulfill their future dreams!”
One parent said her child had wished to be in Ms. J’s class for many years. “The experience was better than we could have hoped. It’s obvious through her teaching and her relationships with the children that she was born to teach!”

Tuesday’s photos are indeed from Ms. Haas’s music room! The ukuleles are played by 5th graders and the “silent star” is a kid-favorite music game!
Ms. Haas has been teaching 17 years with the last five of those at Easley. Ms. Haas loves jazz, and if she’d go back in time, she’d attend an Ella Fitzgerald concert.
One parent said that she feels so fortunate to have Ms. Haas at Easley. “She has instilled a deep love and appreciation for music in so many of these kids, providing growth experiences long after they leave Easley.”
Ms. Haas says, “I love making music with children and being part of a community that is committed to teaching the whole child. Working in a creative, playful, curious space every day is magic!”
Thanks to Ms. Haas for all she does!

Today’s teacher was a little harder to guess! This beanbag reading area and cups of caterpillars are in Mr. Bruns’s 2nd grade class. He is currently in his 3rd year at Easley. He says that his students bring something special to the classroom every day, and he enjoys seeing the light bulb go off as they learn. A parent said, “Our daughter loves how fun and funny he is in the classroom, and she has learned so much while also having a great time!”
Mr. Bruns likes to be active, both in the gym or outside. He also likes trying the many restaurants in the area!
Thanks to Mr. Bruns for all you do!

Kindergarten teacher Ms. Farr has been teaching for 20 years, all of them at Easley. She even attended Easley in 4th and 5th grades! She says that she feels fortunate to watch her students grow and learn, and also loves getting to know their likes, dislikes and interests. This little cart is a work horse for the PTA distributing a variety of goodies throughout the year.
