We wrapped up an incredible Week 5 of the Early Accelerator program! Our students brought an incredible level of curiosity, enthusiasm, and determination to every classroom here at NCSSM-Durham. They embraced new challenges with open minds, worked thoughtfully alongside their peers, and approached each day with kindness and a genuine excitement for learning.

It has been a joy to watch them grow in confidence throughout the week as they explored new ideas, developed new skills, and formed lasting friendships. Their hard work, creativity, and positive energy made this week an outstanding success, and we couldn't be prouder of all they accomplished.

Thank you to our amazing Early Accelerator students for an unforgettable week! We hope you leave campus inspired to keep asking questions, exploring new possibilities, and pursuing your passions.

Week 6 of the NCSSM Summer Accelerator Program was one to remember 😎

This week, students explored an incredible range of topics. This week's classes were:

-Batteries for the Zombie Apocalypse
-The Intelligent Workplace: AI, Automation, and You
-The Amazing Brain: Structure, Function, and Physiology
-Storms, Wars, & Wonders: Understanding Our Changing World
-Data Wrangling: Introductory Python Programming and Data Analysis
-Principles of Physics for Real-World Problem Solving
-The Science of Persuasion: Cognitive Bias in the Age of the Attention Economy
-Mysteries of the Deep: Water Quality, Ecosystems & Environmental Innovation

From tackling real-world challenges to exploring cutting-edge scientific concepts, our students embraced every opportunity to learn, ask questions, and grow.

This week was made even more special as we welcomed a group of visiting exchange students from China to campus. We are grateful for the opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate our different cultures through meaningful conversations, activities, and new friendships.

Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our Summer Accelerator community! We wish you all the best as you continue your journey, and we hope to see you again in the future!

What have our Early Accelerator Students been up to this week?

This week we have four extraordinary and exciting classes taking place in Durham.

- Building Cities, Building Teams: An Introduction to Strategy, Teamwork, and Esports
- Global Builders: Designing Homes, Cultures, and Creativity
- ToonBoom Animation: Storyboard Pro
- Math Explorations

The students are having an absolute blast so far and are busy learning and challenging themselves.

Summer Accelerator students put STEM into action through hands-on learning experiences that challenge them to think critically, collaborate with peers, and bring innovative ideas to life. The students are exploring the wonders of physics, engineering, life sciences, and so much more!

They are undertaking activities that encourage curiosity and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators.

At NCSSM, learning goes beyond the classroom; it's about asking questions, making discoveries, and building skills that will last a lifetime.

NCSSM Summer Accelerator celebrates global learning and cultural connection! 🌍

This week, NCSSM Durham welcomed visiting students from China to join our Summer Accelerator cohort for a special cultural exchange. Students explored Chinese calligraphy, learned about rich art and cultural traditions, practiced language skills, and collaborated through hands-on activities.

By learning alongside one another, students gained fresh perspectives, sharpened their cross-cultural communication skills, and experienced the true value of global connection. Thank you to everyone who made this incredible experience possible!
