WOW!! Shepard IB Magnet Middle School and the PTSA showed up and showed out at Durham Council PTAs 1st Annual Conference Evening of Elegance on Saturday, May 20 by bringing home Outstanding Unit Award and there were @8 (I need to get the final count, some students were unable to make it) students that were Reflections Award winners.

We ended the week with a walking Taco lunch. It didn’t quite go as planned but I think the teachers enjoyed it.

Thursday Teachers and staff were able to stop by the lounge to get a Satin Hands treatment from the fabulous MaryKay consultant, Piard. They were given body butter and some even got the satin hand set.

Parents, progress reports were sent home with your child on Friday, Dec. 2nd. Please make sure that you view your child’s progress reports.

7th grade will be going on a field trip on Friday, Dec. 9th to Northern High School to see the play “Annie.” The cost is $8, and the money is due by Tuesday, Dec. 6th.

PTSA is hosting our first fundraiser this Friday Dec. 9 at SkyZone located on 1720 Guess Road suite 90 in Durham. Come enjoy open jump from 5-7 for $16 or a special glow in the dark jump from 7-10 pm for $18. Please do not forget to join our PTSA. Membership is $8.

Get ready for our Dec. Service Project of the Month. We will be collecting new toys for various elementary schools within our district for the Christmas holiday. If you would like to donate, simply send the new toy to school by your child or feel free to drop of the toys in the front office. The last day to donate a toy will be Dec. 19th. Please contact Ms. Haigler for more information.

Students and staff will begin celebrating the 12 days until Christmas beginning tomorrow with Christmas around the world. Students and staff are asked to display how others celebrate Christmas around the world.
