Starting January 1, 2026, Durham Public Schools will follow a new cell phone and personal device policy aligned with NC House Bill 959. When students return on January 5, all middle and high school students will need to power down and put away their devices during class and other instructional time.
Our goal is simple: protect learning time and reduce classroom distractions.

Help us celebrate our very own PTSA student member Miss Hillside, Brooke Cameron. Congratulations Brooke on your coronation! You looked beautiful last night just as you are every day inside and out!!!

Rest in power to Hillside High School Hornets very own alum Rodney Rogers. Our PTSA and school community extend are thoughts and prayers to his family and all those he touched in Durham, Wake Forest University and beyond.

Happy Veterans Day to all of our alum and parents at Hillside High School Hornets. We appreciate your service. You are truly the epitome of our school moto, "Never will it die. Hillside High. Always true to you. To always keep your fame." A special shoutout to our very own First SJGT. Matthews. We appreciate you and all you do!
