The maple syrup is only part of the reason they keep coming back. For the Farnham family in Elliottsville, Maine, sugaring season means long walks in the woods, catching up with family and a welcome break from everyday life. Making syrup brings them together. Being outdoors is a reward of its own.

A gorgeous fall day at Castle in the Clouds, celebrating the new season of WINDOWS TO THE WILD. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for this year’s Trail Mixer and so glad so many fans had a chance to chat with show host Willem Lange.

This year, we also welcomed two special guests featured in the new season. Renée Blacken spoke about facing her fears while rowing solo across the Atlantic, and Greg Kretschmar shared how nature photography helps him find peace and quiet. Their remarks were both moving and entertaining.

Afterward, guests were invited to take the trolley up to Lucknow Mansion for a tour, a little history and time to explore the grounds—with absolutely gorgeous views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountains.

Thank you to Castle in the Clouds and MVSB - Meredith Village Savings Bank for making the afternoon possible.
