Burnout? Not โround here, partner. ๐ค ๐ฃ
Barefoot massage helps you deliver the deep, therapeutic pressure clients love without sacrificing your hands, wrists, shoulders, and back.
With Ashiatsu, you use gravity, body weight, and smart body mechanics instead of muscling your way through every session.
A long, sustainable massage career shouldnโt hurt.
Sign up for my next Fundamentals class, November 2โ4, and learn how to work smarter with your body.

Durham and I have long history together.
I started my massage practice in Durham in 1992 after attending UNC-Chapel Hill โ go TARHEELS ๐๐๐ผ๐ โ BEFORE it was cool. ๐
Back then, people would say, โYou live in Durham?!? I hear they have gangs there.โ But even then, I felt an affinity to Durham.
Itโs pretty sweet to see how the city has evolved and changed, just like my career, over the past 30+ years.
Starting out as a solo therapist, I was one of the first massage therapists to advertise in the Yellow Pages โ remember the paper phone book BEFORE Google?!? Now those were some interesting times. ๐
After a few years of that, I jumped at the opportunity to work for a physical therapist at The Raleigh Back Clinic, learning trigger point therapy, stretching, and clinical-type massage.
That experience helped shape the work I do today.
In 2008, North Pointe Body Therapies was born from a collaboration between myself and two other massage therapists. Years later, after a lot of growth and change, I kept asking myself: why are we still North Pointe Body Therapies?!?
Life changes and sometimes we have to adapt. Who would have thought Bull City would be what it is today?!?
So in October 2018, we officially changed our name to Bull City Soles.
Over the past 30+ years, Iโve moved my practice around the Bull City 5x! I was the first massage therapist in Durham to offer Ashiatsu barefoot massage, and Iโm the first massage studio in NC with an entire staff trained in barefoot massage.
Itโs been an unBULLievable journey, and I wouldnโt want to be anywhere else. ๐ช๐ฝ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

For all students who have already taken Advanced barefoot massage with but want to learn more, this class might peak your interest!
Iโm excited to teach Clinical Neck on July 13 โ and there are still 7 spots left. โจ
This is a class that I helped write, and itโs one I care a lot about. Weโll focus on the head, neck, jaw, and shoulder girdle, using both feet and hands to work with more precision in a part of the body that can be complex and sensitive.
If you want better clarity and confidence working with clients dealing with chronic neck tension, headaches, TMJ issues, whiplash recovery, and other cervical pain patterns, this class is for you.
Youโll learn a practical 20โ30 minute protocol โฑ๏ธ, assessment-based strategies ๐ง , and ways to integrate this work into what you already know from Myofascial Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage training.

When I explain Ashiatsu to potential clients, I tell them: โItโs just massage using a different tool โ my feet.โ
If youโve ever dragged yourself through a day of five or six back-to-back deep tissue sessions, you know the physical toll it takes.
Even with solid body mechanics and years of anatomy training, deep work, it can be brutal on the hands, wrists, and shoulders.
With barefoot massage, I use gravity, leverage, and full-body movement. I can easily perform long fascial holds and provide the deep pressure clients crave, without pain or strain.
