First Year (9th Grade) Orientation and Experience

Greetings Families!

We will be hosting a first year student experience at Southern School of Energy and Sustainability from Wednesday, August 13th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students may be dropped off between 9:00 a.m. -- 9:30 a.m. and picked up between 1:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Transportation/lunch will not provided.

Students will engage in activities, and elective offerings. Learning opportunities will be relevant, engaging, and hands-on to prepare students for in-person learning at the high school level. The Orientation program will also provide social emotional support and orientation to the physical space.

This program is free, and an exciting opportunity for your child to learn and prepare for the upcoming year.

Due to extreme heat in the building Back on Track summer school will be virtual again today, 7/15.

Due to the A/C being out in the building, Summer School students will work from home today. We will keep you posted about tomorrow and the rest of the week!

The Second "Back on Track" Summer Session starts Monday 7/7 through Thursday 7/24.
Students should report to the Media Center, if possible, to make sure they are enrolled into the correct courses and are able to login. Laptops and staff support will be available at school daily from 9am to 3pm Monday-Thursday. After Monday students are able to work at home on their own devices.

Keep in mind that the district is not providing transportation, breakfast nor lunch and laptop checkout this year.

Summer school for 11th and 12th graders started today. Students can come to school and work between 9am and 3pm. Or they can work at home. It is important they contact Ms. Brooks, [email protected] so we know they are working and we can insure they are taking the right course at home. Good evening, Graduating Spartans! This is Mr. Hodges, principal, with reminders about tomorrow and graduation.

Seniors, please make sure that you are at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 7:30am tomorrow. You should be dressed in your appropriate attire, including your cap, gown, and cords if applicable. Remember, bags cannot be brought in with you, so plan accordingly.

You may pick up your diplomas between the hours of 2pm and 4pm tomorrow at school.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning as we celebrate the Spartan Graduating Class of 2025.
