Bills introduced in Congress can shape the future of neuroscience, mental health care, and public health. From research funding and clinical training to access to treatment and screening, these decisions affect what gets studied, what gets supported, and who gets care. On April 21st, Triangle SfN neuroscientists had the exciting opportunity to visit East Chapel Hill High School, where we shared interactive talks on addiction (Dr. Amir Rezvani) and the science of itch and pain (Dr. Santosh Mishra) 🧠✨ From exploring how the brain’s reward pathways shape behavior to uncovering why something as simple as a scratch can feel so complex, students dove into the fascinating world of neuroscience.

We loved connecting with such an engaged group of students and sparking conversations about how neuroscience impacts everyday life—and future careers. Huge thank you to the students and teachers at ECHHS for welcoming us so enthusiastically. We can’t wait to be back!
