IMS is the sole Montessori, trilingual language immersion school in the region. We help children from different nationalities, races, socio-economic means, and cultures become proficient at writing, speaking, and reading in French, Spanish, or Mandarin Chinese. We celebrate diversity, bridge cultures, and embrace bilingualism, and welcome families who embrace these values too.

A one-minute look at a very big question: How did the universe begin? 🌎

Each school year, our elementary students explore Maria Montessori’s Great Lessons. They begin with The Creation of the Universe and the Earth. This year, we got a peek at the lesson in our Lower Elementary English Language Arts classroom.

Through storytelling and demonstrations, this lesson is meant to excite the imagination and inspire an interest in scientific knowledge. It provides a backdrop for learning that students will engage in throughout their elementary years, including planetary bodies, states of matter, volcanoes, and the composition of the Earth.

And just like that, day one is done! We were thrilled to welcome our kindergarten through eighth grade students back to their classrooms today. The energy, the excitement, and the love were palpable.

This week is all about easing into routines, with practice days for our younger learners as we welcome more of our school community back each day. Cheers to a beautiful start to the year ahead. 💛

Tomorrow, the classroom doors open, and after a full week of planning and prep, our team is more than ready to welcome families and friends back! 💛

We kicked off Teacher Work Week with Evangeline (Evangeline Weiss), who led a team-building workshop focused on how we work together. Through conversation and some fun exercises, we stretched our communication and collaboration muscles, talked about building bridges, and reflected on how we can support one another throughout the year.

From there, it was all about setting up classrooms, welcoming new and familiar faces at Meet the Teacher sessions, and creating spaces where learners can explore and follow their interests.

We can’t wait to see you, IMS! 💛

🌟What a wonderful way to wrap up an incredible six-week journey! Campers made their own tambourines, performed puppet shows, created colorful theater masks, and enjoyed music, movement, stories, art, and imaginative play. Every child had the chance to be a star in their own right, making it the perfect finale to a hot summer! ☀️🎭🥁

A special thank you to Roberts Joila for bringing rhythm, dance, and drumming to our campers this week. Thank you for sharing your talents with our community! 💙
