Get ready to experience the sound of the Bull City!

The inaugural Bull City Band Expo will bring together marching bands from Jordan, Northern, Hillside, Riverside, and Southern high schools for an unforgettable afternoon of music, community, and Durham pride! Our local middle school bands will also join the celebration for the National Anthem and pep tunes!

This event is more than a showcase—it’s an opportunity to celebrate our talented student musicians and support our band programs as they pursue another exciting marching season.

Northern High School Culinary students are putting their skills to work beyond the classroom through a growing partnership with FCR Head Start & Early Head Start.

From catering FCR’s Male Engagement Red Carpet event to hosting a cooking night for families, students are gaining real-world experience while giving back to the Durham community. Along the way, they’re also showing how cooking can bring families together and why learning these skills at a young age matters.

Take a look at what this partnership has made possible, and what Northern Culinary and FCR hope to continue building together.

Yesterday, we shared an in-depth look at the latest school performance data, and today, we’re putting some of those numbers in the spotlight!

There is so much to celebrate across Durham Public Schools! These results represent the hard work of our scholars, the dedication of our teachers, principals, and staff, and the continued support of our families and community partners. Every gain, milestone, and achievement reflects the collective effort happening in our schools each day.

As you swipe through these DPS pride points, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating the people behind the progress and all that our scholars and schools have accomplished.
