Class of 2030, transfers, and Current Blue Devils, welcome to Blue Devil Buddies! 💙

Starting college is exciting, but it can also come with a lot of questions. Blue Devil Buddies (BDB), a Duke Student Government initiative, helps make the transition easier by matching incoming students with current Duke students based on shared interests, backgrounds, and experiences.

Whether you're an incoming student looking for guidance or a current student interested in serving as a mentor, BDB is a great way to build connections across the Duke community. Mentors can share their experiences, answer questions, and help new students feel at home before they even arrive on campus.

If you are interested in participating as either a mentor or mentee, sign up here: https://bdbduke.carrd.co/
⏰ Applications close in one week (July 1), so be sure to sign up soon!

📖 The Academic Affairs Committee is often referred to as the “Behind the Scenes” committee, with the majority of their work centering around supporting the academic side of the undergraduate experience at Duke.

🏫 The committee works with professors, administrators, and resource & cultural centers to advocate for students’ needs inside and outside of the classroom. In the past, projects have included establishing the Blue Devil Buddy program alongside Campus Life Committee, which pairs first-year students launching FLUNCH, an initiative that gives students funding get lunch with a faculty member, and Blue Devil Bridges, a mentorship program connecting Duke alumni and current undergraduates.

Whether you’re studying in Durham or somewhere abroad, AA is the committee working to make sure you have everything that you need to thrive in your time at Duke.

This year’s Vice President of Academic Affairs is Brooke Revels, Duke ‘29. Any questions about AA can be directed to her at [email protected].

Stay tuned for more information about our other committees, and apply for EVP Teams🕺
