For Victoria Kinlaw, pursuing graduate school meant stepping into a new chapter after more than 12 years as a graphic designer. Now a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student, she is building toward a career centered on helping others feel seen, heard and understood.

Victoria is also a wife, mom, working professional and career changer — all parts of the journey that exist beyond the classroom.

What happens after the degree?

The NCCU School of Graduate Studies has launched the Purpose-to-Profession (P2P) Exchange, a new professional development initiative designed to help graduate students and alumni connect their academic training to career opportunities.

Developed in collaboration with SHRM and SHRM North Carolina, the program provides participants with career preparation tools, personal branding strategies and professional development experiences designed to support success beyond the classroom.
