Giggles and Smiles Playschool/Childcare

10/1/1990 I got state licensed and opened my Family Childcare Home and also had a baby girl the same week. I started full time care January 1991 and making a difference in young children’s lives! It is hard to believe it has been 34 years! I have learned so much through the years and have met some amazing families, their children and some awesome friends. Here’s to hopefully 7 more years of licensed care!
In 7 more years that would be 47 years total as an Early Childhood Educator.

I have to figure that out as that would be 41 years as a FCCH and 47 years total in childcare. I try to do everything in even numbers! 🙂

Giggles and Smiles Playschool is looking for a new friend to join our group. We are specifically wanting our new friend to be between 9-12 months old. We have a little girl sunbeam who is almost a year old that needs a friend! Your child will also have two other girl friends that are 4 months old.
The spot will be a part time opening 2 to 3 days a week. Hours open are 8-5 and 8-4:30 on Fridays.

My little sunbeams are little sponges they learn so much. Once they start talking they can say what they learned.
One of my parents messaged me while on vacation last week thanking me for teaching her 15 month old daughter manners. Her daughter was telling everyone Thank You! She said it was so sweet!

COVID quarantine rules ease at work and school, but child care still enforces 14-day quarantine :: WRAL.com It's been a long 22 months for parents in this pandemic. Many have been struggling to balance work and childcare, and some are wondering why quarantines are being shortened for everyone except pre-school children.

Giggles and Smiles had NO violations during an annual inspection today. Annual inspections tend to be more detailed than routine unannounced inspections. Consultants try to visit once every 6 months. This is my second one this year. I strive for no violations and have achieved this goal for several years.

January’s theme was Bears and Snowmen! Our rhyme was Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear.
February theme is Kittens and Mittens. Our nursery rhyme is Hey Di**le Di**le.
We have continued reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear so we can learn animal sounds and colors.
