Durham Tech has been selected as a recipient of the Lowe's Foundation Gable Grant 🎉

This $1 million investment will expand electrical, HVAC and plumbing training opportunities across Main Campus and Durham Tech Orange County Campus.

The grant will support bilingual instruction, Spanish-language trades courses and community-based recruitment efforts, helping more Spanish-speaking learners prepare for careers in the skilled trades.

Big news! 📢 Barbering is coming to Durham Tech. 💈

Through this four-course continuing education program, you'll gain hands-on training in barbering techniques, product knowledge, professional ethics, and safe workplace practices.

After successfully completing the program, you'll be eligible to take the North Carolina Board of Barber Examiners' written and practical exams to pursue your apprentice barber license.

Earlier this month, we welcomed Durham Public Schools students to campus for a Robotics, AI, and Coding Camp through Summer Quest! 🤖💻

Throughout the three-day camp, students designed smart homes and built robotic arms before connecting their creations to a computer to code, test, and customize them.

Three days of hands-on learning, all while having a lot of fun. We loved seeing these future innovators in action!

All Durham Tech students and employees are welcome to shop at our Campus Harvest Food Pantry year-round, but if you're looking for an additional community resource, there is a food giveaway happening tomorrow, July 23!

Kharisma Burrow, a Fine Arts in Visual Arts major, is spending the summer completing a stained-glass program through Duke Arts 🎨

This six-week program allows students to gain experience with the centuries-old craft of stained glass, while coming together to preserve a piece of local history.

We are thankful for this partnership and the opportunity for our students to learn and grow their skills!

We have scholarships available! 📚

In order to qualify, applicants must:

✅ Have no college degree
✅ Be currently enrolled in one of the programs listed here
