This is one of our Math Lab activities. Our friend, Alex, had to solve the equations and match them to the facts.

Skills we practiced:
- Multiplication and Division (beyond quick facts like 2s, 5s, and 10s)

- Reading the equation correctly (because 72÷9 and 27÷9 look the same in a rush)

- Answering what we know when we see it

-Using the process of elimination (because we know Shaq wasn't on 32 different teams)

- Checking our own work so we're confident in our final answer

We love to make math fun, active and meaningful!

Over the summer, the Woodcroft Shopping Center (where we're located) collected school supplies. Last week, we loaded up 3 vehicles and delivered those items to Murray-Massenburg Elem., Parkwood Elem., and Pearsontown Elem.. We are able to support our local schools because of the awesome people in the community who support us. Thank you!!

Sometimes sessions and camp overlap...which was the case on this day. Looking in, you would have thought our friend was a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

He was doing a math review, his little brother was watching from the door, and the camp kids were watching from the camp room. The campers were answering questions too, giving him hints (when they thought I wouldn't notice), and cheered him on from the sidelines.

Our sessions aren't just about improving test scores. Your child will have their own community of friends encouraging them to be better and ready to celebrate your child's wins!

Growth Post:

Some parents walk in our doors saying they've been watching us grow via social media. They come in proud of our growth and excited for their child to join. Some parents walk in with a look of "is this it" in their face and question why we don't have more space/staff/programs.

It took a lot to get to where we are now and we still have a lot of growing to do. Let's take a moment to celebrate our growth and reflect on where we started.

One of many examples of growth - movie day. Now, we watch movies that almost cover a full wall. Everyone has a perfect view. Kids look forward to wearing pajamas and making their own comfy spot. Swipe to see how movie day started...aka our first year in business when we did camp at the park.

This August & September, we're putting classrooms head-to-head in a math challenge!

Every math session with us is 2 points for your class (1 point for an intro session). The class with the most points gets to choose a party and the winning teacher gets a classroom supply basket!

August math sessions are designed to review and refresh the skills students learned before summer break.

Starting the year with a strong foundation helps students feel more confident in the classroom and can prevent them from falling behind while teachers introduce new concepts.

We would love to have you join us! Math reviews are on Mondays and Wednesdays.
