Parents of Juniors! We have extended the deadline to sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT test next Wednesday to NOON on Tuesday, Oct 12th to Mrs. Ficker in the School Counseling office.
You must bring a check or cash for $25.00 to be officially registered. The test itself will start at 8am sharp on Wednesday morning in either the Gym or MPR. Get plenty of rest the night before, eat a healthy breakfast and bring a #2 pencil and non-graphing calculator.

Attention Juniors! PSAT/NMSQT School Day Test is coming to ORHS
Open to all Juniors only
Wednesday, October 13, 2021
at 8am sharp at Oyster River High School
Please note:
All Students need to register by 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 7th to take the PSAT.
To register for the in-person PSAT on October 13th, 2021:
1. Please take a minute to answer the following survey so you can be on our roster: https://forms.office.com/r/BE4jdhQtwM
2. Payment of $25 must be received by 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021.**(see note below)
Payment should be in the form of a check, with your student's name in the memo line, payable to ORHS, and dropped off by your student to Mrs. Ficker in the School Counseling Office no later than 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 7th.
3. Pick up PSAT Student Guide in the School Counseling Office at the time the check is dropped off. A free study guide and practice full-length test is inside.
**Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch are granted a fee waiver. Please contact the Counseling Department if you require a fee waiver.
Test Day Information
Arrival time: 7:45am โ 8:00am, sharp!
Test start time: 8:00 am
Standard testing length, not including breaks: 2 hours 45 minutes. (2 hours 55 minutes with breaks)
Expected end time may vary from 11:30 through 12:30.
Bring a #2 pencil and a non-graphing calculator

Financial Aid Night is coming!

This presentation helps families navigate through the federal financial aid process
(FAFSA), explores what type of additional aid is available, reviews scholarship searches and highlights the importance of meeting deadlines. Attendees will receive our Financial Aid Insider.

Hello Seniors and Parents!
The Counseling Office will begin offering workshops to support the college search and application process.
Students can sign up for the FLEX sessions through their advisory. Monday, September 13th ORHS will host UNH Admissions to talk about the College essay and starting 9/15, we will have workshops dedicated to navigating SCOIR and the Common Application for the next three weeks.

The ORHS Counseling Department is offering a College Application and Career Planning Bootcamp for the Class of 2022! It will take place in-person at ORHS on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021.
Students can choose to attend one or both of two workshops:
1. COLLEGE APPLICATION PLANNING - Listen to a presentation from UNH Admissions regarding the college application essay, and learn the ropes of SCOIR and the Common Application to begin the college application process (there will be an AM session and a PM session).
2. CAREER PLANNING - Complete the YouScience aptitude and career assessment, along with resume writing, to work on the career search process (there will be a AM session only).
