Bath day , courtesy of ABEL trainer, Eric. helps rehabilitate inmates at various correctional facilities, by teaching them how to raise and train service puppies… inmates gain skills and a sense of purpose, and puppies love it. Most of the time…🤣

Puppy Kindergarten has provided me with an amazing and unique opportunity to get involved while also giving me a nice break from classes and schoolwork. I have a dog at home and I’m so grateful to have found a community at Duke that loves dogs as much as I do and gives me the chance to be with them when I can’t be with mine :) It's always one of the highlights of my week!

"There was never a visitors day that wasn’t packed and it’s just people having fun, enjoying the puppies and the puppies enjoying the people. Puppy Kindergarten is one of the best displays of community at Duke"

'Puppy Kindergarten has always been a place of stress relief and joy for me. Even before I was a volunteer, I would come by regularly to visit the puppies and it made my day better without fail. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to volunteer this semester!'
