Are ghosts real?

Are Ghosts Real? Exposing the Truth about Belief in the Supernatural Tales of hauntings abound, both in fiction and throughout history. Otherworldly spirits lurk in the dark shadows of alleys, old buildings, and our imaginations. Old stories become legends, while new reports of ghastly encounters regularly appear. All this begs the question: are ghosts real?

9:30 p.m. EST Wednesday Live Stream on Facebook and YouTube - hear HNC Paranormal Investigator Iris Carter talk about her newly released book and share more stories in discussion with her sister joining the show along with co-host Margo Ross Sears. The book contains various personal experiences intertwined with practical advice on handling paranormal experiences.

Put it on your calendar and join the event next Wednesday evening streaming live online. Iris has served as an investigator and board member for HNC and acknowledges the group in the book.
From the back cover: "Not so long ago, one never talked openly or seriously about the paranormal in fear of being labeled a weirdo. As a member of a paranormal research team, Iris has helped investigate homes and businesses for potential hauntings, which helped her process her own ghostly encounters from childhood. One woman said she feels her toddler sees things she doesn’t, and every time her group of friends gathers, someone brings up the supernatural in conjunction with their children’s behaviors. 'All they are looking for is someone to confirm their suspicions,' she said. The intention of this book is to share anecdotal evidence and firsthand knowledge in a way that helps others become empowered in addressing their own crises, as Iris’ eccentric compilation of interests and experiences has led her to see the demand for practical, down-to-earth insights on the paranormal."

Our Story

As a research & educational institution established in 1992, Haunted North Carolina, Inc., maintains the highest standards for investigation of ghost & haunting-type phenomena, according to guidelines set forth by the Society for Psychical Research. Our investigators have firmly-established integrity and credibility and are well-trained and well-versed in the many components that contribute to the experience of these phenomena, backed by an extensive research library on all aspects of psychical phenomena.

While we welcome donations, there is never a charge for our assistance, and confidentiality is contractually guaranteed!

Without exception, the needs of vulnerable, frightened or confused individuals always supersede our own desire to gain information. We begin with carefully pointed interviews to narrow down the parameters during which phenomena occur. A preliminary investigation ‘vigil’ of a few hours may then be scheduled to continue interviews, inspect the location and elicit elementary data. This is often sufficient to determine the matter of paranormality. Based on evaluation of preliminary data, a more focused vigil may be recommended. Upon completion of evidence review from the vigil, we provide findings with supporting data, and offer further support and recommendations as needed for coping with the situation.

Anyone can form a ghost hunting team. For us, this is not a hobby; it’s a lifelong professional commitment to the wellbeing of all involved, including those who have passed over.
