Family Preschool

Family Preschool Family Preschool is a cooperative, half-day preschool for children ages 1 through 6.

The name Family Preschool reflects the central importance of the family in this preschool program. The school seeks to integrate the comfort and security of home-based play with more traditional preschool experiences and is enhanced by the talents and energies of the families who participate. Family Preschool is administered by a parent board; parents participate regularly in the classroom as assistants to the professional staff, and parent education workshops are offered during the year. Family Preschool strives to foster a support community among children, parents, and staff.

Shh... don't tell, but we think the Treasure Fairy visits our playground! ✨🧚 Every so often, tiny treasures appear scattered around outside, and our kids get to work hunting, collecting, and marveling over each little find.
It's pure magic to watch — but it's also so much more than that. Picking up each small treasure builds pincer grasp and fine motor skills, all while kids are having way too much fun to notice they're "working" on anything. That's the kind of intention woven into everything we do at FPS: even the most playful, imaginative moments are helping little hands and minds grow. ✨

We welcomed our 4 and 5 day friends (back) to school last week for some awesome time together. We all braved the high temps (the waterway sure helped!) and made some great first week memories. Friends learned about how preschool works, practiced our daily routines, and experimented with playdough, scissors, crayons, and all things art! We’re looking forward to a great year with our Armadillo, Beaver, Platypus, and Flamingo friends!

We made it through the first week! 💛😭🎉 "Tears and Cheers" time — celebrating all the brave first drop-offs, the new friendships already forming, and yes, a few tears along the way (from kiddos and parents alike, no judgment here!).
