Huge congratulations to the DPS Sustainable Schools Coalition for earning 1st place in the national Great School Electrification Challenge! 🎉🌎⚡

Competing against 19 teams from across the country, DPS climate advocates finished Round 3 with more than 1,000 points after a year of organizing, community outreach, and student-led action focused on creating cleaner, healthier, and more energy-efficient schools.

This incredible coalition, made up of students, staff, community members, and partners from seven DPS schools and Duke University, has already helped advocate for a district Climate Action Plan expected to go before the school board in February 2027.

After placing 2nd nationally last year, bringing home the top spot this year is a testament to the power of student voices and community collaboration. DPS and The Bull City is proud of you! 💚
