Gail Hayssen is one of the most well connected people in the field of parapsychology. She has been involved with scientific research for decades including studies with Dean Radin, Russell Targ, Stanley Krippner, and many other luminaries in the field. Her podcast, A Small Medium at Large engages some of the most interesting and influential people in parapsychology. In this episode, she meets with Rhine Executive Director John G Kruth to talk about the history of the Duke Parapsychology Lab and some recent research from the Rhine Research Center. Enjoy, give Gail a like and subscribe!

The Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) will host their annual conference in June of this year. This conference is just outside of Denver Colorado, and will include some interesting speakers from around the world. Explore the program in the link below and join Rhine Executive Director John G Kruth and many others as they gather to discuss the nature of consciousness and edge sciences.
Society for Scientific Exploration - 2026 Conference
The Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) invites you to join us in Westminster, Colorado—located between Denver and Boulder—for our 44th Annual Conference. This year’s theme, Evidence & Encounters, explores two complementary approaches to frontier science:

This weekend, March 28th, the Parapsychological Association will hold a forum to discuss the Fear of Psi. Why are people afraid of psi, and how does their fear affect their lives?
Speakers include Julia Mossbridge, Paul H Smith, Jim Carpenter, Annalisa Ventola, and many others. Join us if you can.
What happens when your research subjects rewrite the rules of your experiment — and reveal something profound about the nature of mind in the process? Dr. Julia Mossbridge (Florida Atlantic University / Applied Love Labs), cognitive neuroscientist and Human Potential Research Lead for The Telepathy Tapes, shares what her team has discovered working directly with nonspeaking autistic individuals. Since March 2025, their research has revealed that nonspeakers appear to have remarkably fluid and direct access to psi capacities — , , , , and — but that this access follows rules that defy conventional experimental boundaries. The result? A research team trained in neurotypical paradigms has had to confront a fear no graduate program prepares you for: the fear of losing control. Mossbridge describes how nonspeakers' responses serve a dual purpose — genuinely engaging the task while simultaneously demonstrating that their minds operate in fundamentally different ways. And how unconditional love became the unexpected methodological key to moving beyond the illusion of control.

The Effects of Love & Excitement on Random Events
with Dr. Annette Grathoff and Dr. Wolfhardt Janu
Do our emotions affect random events in electronic systems? Can love and excitement have a measurable effect on Random Event Generators?
Dr. Annette Grathoff and Dr. Wolfhardt Janu are members of the oREGano team, which received the 2024 Linda G. O’Bryant Noetic Sciences Research Award for proposing an innovative experimental approach addressing the relationship between consciousness and the brain.
In their presentation, Annette and Wolfhardt share the results of their recent experiments using paired-random event generators (REGs) during events where people experience strong feelings of excitement and bliss. They will discuss the correlations between random data streams and synchronous time points of intense feelings and special moments.

This is a topic that comes up often in our research team meetings. How can a person expect to be able to tune into psi activity that is relevant to them without being overwhelmed by the excessive amount of psi information that might exist in our environment? We often compare this to the cocktail party effect where were are able to hear a single voice in a crowded room of people who are talking.
This article discusses some research done at MIT to model activity in the brain that assists in understanding the cocktail party effect for sound. It could have a similar implication for selecting psi information. Though this study is focused on sound, perhaps there is a comparable model for psi. A great research opportunity!
How the brain handles the “cocktail party problem” | Brain and Cognitive Sciences
Using a computational model, neuroscientists showed how the brain can selectively focus attention on one voice among others in a noisy environment.
