Update: it’s delicious! The colors obviously mellow when it’s done cooking, so it’s a little less pretty, but it’s so tasty! For my dipping sauce, I threw together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, chili crisp, and sesame oil. It was a perfect sweet/spicy/salty combo. (See previous post for additional details) 🍲

Mine v the influencer. This is apparently called “Mille-Feuille Nabe.” It’s basically pork and cabbage (or beef and cabbage in my version because I didn’t read the recipe before shopping) with whatever other ingredients you want. You pour some broth over it and cook until tender (hot pot style). Then, you serve it with some “dipping sauce,” which I’m still making up at the moment! I will report back on how it all tastes!

Family-friendly healthy meal, made up of whatever I had on hand. Ground chicken with mushrooms, a bag of frozen mixed veggies, some leftover yellow squash with onions, plus broth, seasonings, and corn starch to thicken. Turned out like a “stew” sort of. Adult meal (center) served over fresh spinach. Kid meals served over buttered pasta. Portions vary drastically by age (4yo on left, 12yo on right for comparison). Will they eat all of the ingredients? No. Will they strategically pick around certain things? Yes. But am I exposing them to a healthy variety, some of which they will eat? Also yes. Let’s call that a win. 👩🏻🍳🫛🌽🥕

French toast casserole (or bread pudding?) from yesterday’s leftover bread bits. It does not look glamorous, but it’s delicious! 🍞 🥚 🥛 👩🏻🍳
