Today, our Director, William A. Darity Jr., will give the keynote at the 2026 Conference on Discrimination in the 21st Century at the University of Chicago.

Hosted by the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation, this conference will bring together researchers from different fields to discuss crucial themes around discrimination.

What could strengthening labor and employment conditions for migrant parents do to mitigate long-term or latent adverse health outcomes for U.S.-born children?

Faculty Affiliates Joaquin Alfredo-Angel Rubalcaba and Alberto Ortega explore this question in new study examining the economic and health disparities faced by migrant farmworkers and the implementation of health programs targeted towards working migrant populations.
