"Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery after the Civil War, although President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation had legally accomplished that within the Confederacy more than two years earlier (January 1, 1863).
The 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1865, abolished slavery throughout the entire United States." Oh happy DAY. It's Freedom DAY. Happy Juneteenth! β€οΈπ€π
To all fathers & father figures. We see you & we celebrate you. May God bless and keep you today & forevermore. Happy Father's Day! πππ§¦π
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." ~Nelson Mandela~
I am a proud 2 time HBCU Alumna & the best gift was graduating from undergrad 100% debt free. I didn't realize what a blessing that was until many years later. The investment in graduate school (both masters & doctorate) has had a significant ROI for me. I am truly grateful.
I've also had the privilege of going to college every day for over 20 years in my roles at Durham Technical Community College, North Carolina Central University & now NC State University. It's an honor to impact the lives of so many individuals in positive ways.
Happy National Higher Education Day! πππ &do

I began my career as an elementary teacher. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I'm sharing my 1st year as an educator (3rd Grade, Tuscaloosa, AL) & my most recent graduate school class as a guest lecturer (NC State University, Raleigh, NC). πππΊ
In my 28 years as an educator, I've had the privilege of teaching, coaching, guiding and inspiring thousands of students, from K-16 to graduate school & beyond. It's a honor to have a positive impact on the lives of others.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to my fellow educators. Teachers make the difference. We always have and always will. Continue to reach higher as you teach & inspire the young people in your care. You are appreciated! ππππ
