The Office of Black Church Studies is preparing to enhance further its contribution to the theological project of Duke Divinity School by expanding field education opportunities, building library collections, and developing a next generation of scholars for the church.

This past week, OBCS had the joy of journeying with some of our students to Proctor Conference 2026 in Chicago, IL. Students were blessed by conference sessions, worship services, networking time, intentional time with Professor Antonia Daymond and more. A special congratulations to Duke Divinity alumna Dr. Cynthia Hale ( )for being honored at this year’s conference! We look forward to more of these opportunities with our students!
