I want to take this opportunity to highlight Ruth Lamb's outstanding efforts to overcome the recent adversity she experienced with Hurricane Helen. Her commitment and dedication are beyond admirable. I am super proud of the work she has been doing to get caught up after being without internet access for over a month. Kudus to you, Ruth; you are definitely an inspiration to your peers!

NCCA Student Spotlight: Lucus Triska

The North Carolina Cyber Academy would like to highlight one of our 7th grade students, Lucus Triska. Triska was recommended by the NC Cyber Academy Middle School Counseling staff due to his outstanding work in the classroom.

“Lucus is a shining star in our SEL class,” stated Lucus’s counselors. “He is always present and ready to not only learn, but to engage with his peers and counselors.”

Lucus has earned the admiration of his instructors for the way in which he engages with them and his classmates during sessions. He has shown the bravery to share his experiences, making himself vulnerable to improve the conversation and aid his instructors and fellow students.

“One thing we truly appreciate about Lucus is the courage he shows through sharing,” his counselors added. “When people are willing to communicate their experiences, it helps us all to know that we are not alone. Thank you Lucus for your bravery and for being a positive example in our class.”

Great job Lucus! Way to serve as an inspiration for your classmates and teachers!

The North Carolina Cyber Academy wishes everyone an enjoyable Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a very special opportunity for us to express appreciation and gratitude to all the men and women around the world who serve or served in the various branches of the military.

While we remember those who are no longer with us, Veterans Day is also about celebrating and appreciating our active duty servicemen and servicewomen, along with retired servicepeople who defended our nation in various places all over the world. We are thankful for their sacrifices, as well as those of their families. May we never forget the high price our military has paid to keep our nation free and thriving........................

8th-grade student Brylie, affected by the devastation of Hurricane Helene, has shown incredible resilience and leadership!

With the support of the NCCA Middle School and community during this difficult time, Brylie has now turned around to help others in her home community of Swannanoa and others who are also struggling from the impact of the hurricane. We’re so proud to share these amazing pictures of her volunteering and spreading goodwill. Your NCCA Middle family is here to commend and support you, Brylie! Thank you for being a shining example of student leadership! 💙

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor America’s first inhabitants and the Tribal Nations that continue to thrive today. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a holiday in the United States that celebrates and honors Native American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. Today is also widely celebrated as Columbus Day and Italian Heritage Day. NCCA celebrates all cultures and people who inhabit our great country, and we hope our students and staff enjoy today's final day of Fall Break!

Our Story

The NC Legislature authorized a pilot program for online charter schools in 2014 and NCCA opened in 2015 as North Carolina Connections Academy.

Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, NCCA chose to operate with more local control and oversight and changed the name to North Carolina Cyber Academy. Enrollment in this online school is tuition-free. Over the years, NCCA has built a tight-knit school community that offers quality education to create a well-rounded student experience for those who need or desire alternatives to traditional brick and mortar institutions.

The school is open to all North Carolina students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
