About the illustrator:

Founded in Buenos Aires, El Fantasma de Heredia is an Argentinian studio of graphic design that has worked exclusively on social and cultural topics for the last 30 years. Topics of interest include education, development, communication, ecology, justice, childhood, gender, poverty, health, environment, scenic and visual arts, and music. They emphasize “Quality on images and texts, for relevant issues that deserve the effort.”

Founders Anabella Salem and Gabriel Mateu met at Buenos Aires University where they both taught for several years.

In 2018, El Fantasma de Heredia was honored with the Grand Prix at 4th Block International Poster Triennial in Ukraine for their piece "Mirror," for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Other awards include First Prize for Identity of Museum of Holocaust in Argentina, the Icograda Excellence Award and Juror´s Prize, both at Chaumont Poster Festival, Gold Medal for “Eclipse” poster at Toyama Triennial, and Presidency of the International Jury at the 19° International Poster Biennial in Warsaw. Their last big solo exhibitions took place at Salon Academy of Fine Arts, also in Warsaw, in 2015 and then at Casamérica, Madrid 2019.

They met writer Stephen Raburn during the pandemic and worked together to launch “The Amazing Adventures of Izzy and Ani” and “How to Fall Asleep: a Bedtime Story.” They are preparing new stories for this year!
