Ticora Jones-Greene, a 2025 graduate of the Duke Ophthalmic Technician Program, shares how her training shaped the way she connects with patients:

“Being able to be the person that contributes to a patient seeing better is one of the most rewarding feelings to get in healthcare. I love being the first person the patient sees throughout their visit — it gives me the opportunity to make an impact during the duration of their visit. My advice to anyone considering applying, if you want to see your life change in a year then do it. My life changed the moment I applied to the program. If you have the determination, drive and the passion for healthcare. Then do it."

The Duke Ophthalmic Technician Program equips future technicians with the skills and confidence to make a meaningful difference starting from day one.
