Hawkins Piano Studio Piano Lessons in Durham North Carolina

A couple fun things happened this week: I taught my first Wunderkeys for Preschoolers lesson in about 3 years, and I finally got my Felt Right tiles up on the wall!

Today one of my online students came up with this way to remember the pattern of whole and half steps in the major pentacles! We laughed at how silly it would be for a whale to actually hate water 🐳🐳🐳

Back in March I attended the Music Teacher National Association’s conference in Atlanta GA! It was 4 fun-filled days of music, learning, and meeting other teachers. Can’t wait for 2025!

The studio is moving to Durham, North Carolina!

After graduating with my masters degree from the University of Southern Maine, it was clear to my husband and I that we needed to move back to NC to be closer to our family and friends.

I will cherish my memories from Maine forever, and I am so excited for the next chapter and all the new students I will get to make music with!
