Removing the downtown parking lot would create serious challenges for the local businesses that rely on convenient access for their customers. Many small shops and restaurants depend on nearby parking to attract visitors who may already have limited time to stop and shop. If the parking lot is taken away, customers may choose to go elsewhere where parking is easier, which could reduce foot traffic and hurt the livelihood of business owners
and their employees. Downtown areas thrive when they are accessible and welcoming, and maintaining adequate parking is an important part of supporting the businesses that help keep our community vibrant and economically healthy.
