We have been completely blown away by the response we have gotten in support of our Centennial year. A huge thank you to Arnett Insurance, Brown Funeral Service, Magnolia City Dental, Zellie Blue, and The Medicine Store for being the first community partners to commit to being Centennial sponsors!

If you would like to help in some other way, we need your help taking care of the teachers during their first few weeks back! If you're interested, call the school at 580-924-3805 or send an email to [email protected].

We are exactly ONE WEEK away from our Annual Back to School Bash!

This event is 100% free, no purchases necessary (unless you’re hitting up the library’s concession stand).

While we prefer for your kiddos to be with you (so they can choose their own backpack), we also understand that things happen and sometimes schedules don’t line up (or kiddos don’t want to get up that early), either way come join the fun and gear up for some awesome stuff ❀️

In celebration of our 100th year, we are introducing a "History Highlights" series. Our first History Highlight was submitted by Jerrie Smith Goforth and features her sisters Sherrie Smith Stout and Terrie Smith Keck and her, the 1st set of female triplets to grace the halls of Washington Irving.

Jerrie shared:

"My sisters, Terrie and Sherrie, and I started our education in the first grade at Washington Irving in the Fall of 1963.The picture of us was taken at the front doors of WI. Our father, Billy Wayne Smith, DHS 1949, was a teacher/coach at Durant Junior High and High School. We attended WI first through third grade until our father got a new coach job in Tishomingo.

We were the second set of triplets born in Bryan County but the first set of all girls. Our grandfather, MC Easter, was very proud of us and started putting our picture on his business calendars starting in 1958. His good friend, Sam Sullivan, named us the Three American Beauties which was displayed at the top of the calendars each year until the last calendars were printed in1990.

After going to public school across the state, we returned to Durant High School where we completed our senior year, graduating in 1975."

If you have a story you would like to share or want to know how you can help us make our 100th year the best yet, email [email protected] or visit this link: https://forms.gle/a5FKP8dQWC7VjZBAA
