BPA Spotlight: Set Sail for Success!

Navigate today. Lead tomorrow. That’s the message our Business Professionals of America (BPA) officers brought back with them from the Fall Leadership Conference! Our officers representing Interactive Media and Computer Information Technology joined student leaders from across Oklahoma for a day focused on leadership, communication, teamwork, and discovering how to make a meaningful impact.

With this year’s theme, “Set Sail for Success,” students had the opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, explore new opportunities, connect with fellow BPA members, and learn how to navigate the challenges that come with being a leader. From workshops on effective communication and teamwork to exploring future leadership opportunities, the conference encouraged students to take initiative and recognize their potential.

We are SO proud of these students for stepping up as officers and investing in their growth! Leadership takes effort, confidence, and a willingness to keep learning—and these experiences help our students build those qualities beyond the classroom. Our BPA officers are charting their own course, and we can’t wait to see where they sail next!

HOSA Spotlight: Reaching New Heights at PEAK!

Our HOSA students took their leadership and professional development to the next level at the PEAK Conference!

PEAK brings together post-secondary Career and Technical Student Organization members for a day focused on leadership, networking, and preparing for life beyond the classroom. It’s an opportunity for students to build connections, strengthen their professional skills, and learn what it takes to stand out in their future careers.

For our future health professionals, experiences like these are about so much more than attending a conference. They’re about stepping outside their comfort zones, learning from others, building confidence, and discovering new opportunities for their futures.

We’re incredibly proud of our HOSA students for taking advantage of opportunities that help them grow not only as students, but as future professionals and leaders in their communities. The future of healthcare starts with students who are willing to learn, lead, and take the next step. We’re excited to see where these opportunities take them!

Learn the fundamentals of leatherworking in this hands-on class designed for beginners and hobbyists. Participants will explore essential tools, materials, and techniques used to create durable, handcrafted leather goods.
Students will learn skills such as cutting, punching, stitching, edge finishing, hardware installation, and basic leather care while gaining practical experience creating their own leather project.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and there’s no better time to spotlight our Computer Information Technology students!

Every day, our CIT students are developing the technical skills needed to work in a world where technology is everywhere—and where protecting information is more important than ever. From learning how systems work to understanding how to identify and prevent security threats, our students are preparing for careers that keep businesses, organizations, and people connected and protected.

The best part? They aren’t just learning from a textbook. They’re working hands-on, solving problems, asking questions, and learning directly from their instructor as they build skills they can take straight into the workforce.

We’re incredibly proud of the focus and curiosity our CIT students bring into the classroom. Cybersecurity starts with awareness, but it takes knowledgeable people to put that awareness into action.

We’re hiring at Kiamichi Tech – Durant!

We are looking for an experienced Medical Coding professional to join our Center for Workforce Advancement team as a part-time adjunct instructor.

We’re looking for someone who not only knows medical coding, but enjoys helping others learn it. The right instructor will bring real-world experience into the classroom and help students develop the skills, confidence and problem-solving abilities they need to prepare for the AAPC CPC certification exam.

Applicants should have a current CPC credential, 5+ years of professional medical coding experience and strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Level II.
