Durant Middle School Open House: Thursday, August 7th @ 5-7:30pm

State Leadership Conference 2025 is officially closed! Thank you so much to our wonderful students who worked hard on their events. All students representing our DMS Chapter well, and had a great time in Norman. Thank you to the DHS team for traveling and competing with us- our students are awesome! Our chapter competed in over 7 different events- each student competing in at least 2! Rozlyn (President) took home 4th in Creed, and Makayla (Secretary) and River placed 3rd in Problem Solving. This year was a blast- can’t wait for many more. Way to go Durant Lions!

And just like that, the 2023-2024 DMS TSA Season is closed! Our season culminated in an AWESOME showing at State in April, with our Mass Production Team taking home 2nd overal in Oklahoma! To round out the semester, our last meeting included a pizza party and soccer match. Season highlights also included two ‘24-25 Regional Officer Candidates, 4+ mini conferences, 30+ active members, several first-time competitors, and all the laughter in between. Congratulations to all of our hard working students, we couldn’t be prouder. Way to go DMS TSA!

We had a great time of FUN and LEARNING after school today putting together these AWESOME Buddy Benches that will be installed at the 8th Grade Drop Off/Pick Up area!

THANK YOU Durant Rotary Club for partnering with us on this project! We hope to have these installed and ready for students to enjoy them before the end of the school year 🙌🏻🙌🏻

TSA Officers brought in the new year with fantastic work at the Edmond Mini Conference this weekend! Students competed in a variety of events, including: Challenging Tech, Leadership Strategies, Tech. Bowl, Career Prep., Prepared Speech, Problem Solving, Digital Photography, and Forensic Tech.. They even brought home some new certificates and hardware- check it out! We are so proud of each student’s hard work, and can’t wait to see where the rest of this 2024 TSA Competition Season takes them!

Our Officer Teams traveled to the Oklahoma CareerTech State Office in Stillwater today to strengthen their skills in parliamentary procedure. These leaders learned so much about Robert’s Rules of Order and how to conduct business meetings. They also networked with other TSA Officer teams from around the state.

And of course, you can’t go to Stillwater without stopping by Eskimo Joe's 😁

Early morning trip! First and foremost, we want to send out a HUGE shoutout to show our most sincere appreciation to our driver, Jesse Bateman. Jesse gave up his Saturday to wake up early, get a bus ready to roll out, and drove us safely in the rain. Six hours worth of driving plus the six hours we were in competitions. Jesse truly has a servants heart and Durant ISD is blessed to have him! THANK YOU, Jesse!

We left Durant at 5am 😳 and headed northeast to Roland, OK for the Arklahoma TSA Kick Off! It was early but OH SO worth it 🤩🤩 Out of about 160 students representing 15 different schools, Durant competed EXTREMELY well 🙌🏻🙌🏻

TSA Officers along with members of our Durant ISD Aviation Pathway was invited to attend the National Science Foundation Logistics Collaboration Conference hosted by Aviation at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

We spent the day collaborating with stakeholders of the aviation industry including Kratos Defense Systems, Asylon Robotics, Interstate Traveler Company, Choctaw Nation Emerging Technologies, and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. We even got to see one of our favorite Coaching Legends, Coach Olive!

We heard several times from industry partners, “Students, we want to hear YOUR questions and we want to hear YOUR answers!”

STEM Education careers are growing in demand and it is our goal to equip our students for success. Super thankful to have great industry partners who want to partner with our students and see them succeed!
