Wilderness Advanced Life Support (WALS®) will be held from September 8th -11th in Telluride, CO and will be taught by Dr. David Johnson and Brad Sablosky. This 4-day, 36-hour class is Wilderness Medical Associates International’s most advanced level course. Current certification or licensure as an EMT-I, Paramedic, RN, NP, PA, MD, or DO is a prerequisite for admission. Category 1 CME credits for physicians and physician assistants, CEUs for paramedics and Contact Hours for nurses are available. Wilderness EMS Upgrade will be held from October 6th - 10th in Moab, UT and will be taught by Brad Sablosky and Mike Webster. This hands on class will take place in Moab, Utah on the banks of the Colorado River. Onsite camping is available. Open to EMT’s, Paramedics, Nurses, MD’s, & PA’s. This class will explore what it means to add the wilderness designation to certifications, identify what practices improve outcomes for patients and make rescues safer and more successful. Participants will receive a Wilderness EMS Certification from Wilderness Medical Associates, and 45 hours CME hours.
