Children's House of Durango, LLC Children's House of Durango provides an enriched learning environment for children based on Maria Montessori's philosophy and method.

Celebrating over 30 years of Montessori education, Children's House of Durango provides a nurturing Montessori based learning environment for children ages 3-6. Due to the nature of our "house" each subject is separated and taught in individual rooms with a teacher that is trained within her subject area. The teacher in the classroom remains constant and the students rotate throughout the week on

a set schedule. During the course of a day a child will be exposed to 2 morning classes and one afternoon class. Our program includes the five Montessori subjects, Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, and Cultural. In addition, we incorporate Spanish as a foreign language, art, and music appreciation.

Australia 🇦🇺 and Morocco 🇲🇦

Every year we pick two countries and spend the month of December learning about them. Each area of the Montessori classroom incorporates educational materials for the children to learn about the culture. This year the students learned about Australia and Morocco.

This past week we had our annual multicultural celebration, where we celebrated each country. For Morocco, we made Moroccan headscarves, tassel necklaces, Moroccan Zellige tilework, and wild rose prints. For Australia, we made sand paintings, dot paintings, and waffle flower art.

Our annual harvest festival on Halloween was as amazing as ever! We had super fun activities and projects like pumpkin painting, vegetable & fruit printing, mask making, face painting, bite the doughnut, of course, and we finished the morning with a costume parade around the neighborhood! 🎃👻🍂🕷️🕸️

We have had a busy summer at Children’s House filled with Montessori work, outdoor fun, and new friends!

On Wednesday, the children went on a DINO HUNT after the dinosaur eggs hatched early and they all escaped!!! 🦕🦖🥚👀☀️ We had a blast walking around the playground to find all the dinosaur that were exploring the playground and hiding in sneaky places!

Summer at Children’s House includes a lot of fun activities outside and creative projects!!

Our annual Spring Sing was the best ever this year! The children were absolutely incredible! 🤍

Our annual Parent-Student-Teacher Work Day was a huge success!!! With help from our amazing parents, students, and teachers, we cleaned up the playground, washed windows, fixed tables and benches, trimmed trees, and added new things to the playground!
