Introducing empow-her, a women’s’ lifting workshop taking place this Saturday! All female identifying individuals are welcome to join to learn proper body mechanics when weight training, how to properly fuel, structure workouts, and consistently make progression towards whatever your wellness goals may be. This workshop will be taking place outside of regular hours, in hopes to cultivate a safe and comfortable environment for those unacquainted with the SLC.

This event will be lead by
Mikayla Leighton—ISSA CPT

Sensory hours have been going strong for nearly two months already!
Sensory hours stem from student feedback regarding the overstimulating and brightly lit atmosphere of the weight room. In response, have set aside two afternoons per week to reduce agitating stimuli and potential for sensory overload.
Features of sensory hours include a reduction of overhead light, silenced music speakers, reduced noice, and a somber tone out of respect for others. If you enjoy these hours or have feedback on how they could be improved, feel free to use our suggestion box at the front desk and/or the departmental feedback form found through the link in our bio.
