We know how many of you were looking forward to lacing up, walking with your family, or cheering from the sidelines — and we’re grateful for that enthusiasm, however, after careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Fast & The Curious 5K Fun Run and 1K Family Walk, originally planned for Saturday, August 15 at Santa Rita Park.

This event has always been about more than a race; it’s a celebration of our community and the students we are proud to serve. We’re already looking ahead to bringing this event back even stronger next year.

Freedom means something different for everyone. For many of our students, it means the freedom to read a bedtime story to their kids, pass a citizenship test, earn a GED, or land a job they've been working toward. Every day, our community shows up to learn, grow, and build a brighter future — and that's something worth celebrating too.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, we're grateful for the freedoms we share and for the incredible community that keeps showing up to invest in itself. Here's to fireworks, good company, and the everyday courage it takes to start (or continue) an education journey.

We're thrilled to share that we received a $3,000 "Round-Up" grant from our friends at La Plata Electric Association (LPEA). 💚
This generous support will help us continue empowering adult learners in our community — and we couldn't be more grateful.
Huge thank you to LPEA and YOU, the members who make this possible!
