Did you see the partial lunar eclipse last night? Durango was at 96% complete at its peak! Dr. Hakes in Physics and Engineering opened up the observatory for folks to view this cool phenomenon and take pictures.

We are officially on day 3 of the new semester! Biology made some upgrades this summer with new signs to help direct students, and new food/drink shelving outside of labs to support student lab safety.

This little one isn't sure what to make of all the new hustle and bustle of campus as our new first year students move in today! Thankfully, they have a safe hiding spot in the garden 😊

MONSOON season has hopefully arrived! We've had rain almost every day this week, and our fingers and toes are crossed for much more rain in the future. The mountains are especially beautiful when they are rainy and the views are incredible.

Lots of deep cleaning this week. The fish tank, Gwen, our Golden Gecko, and the Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches all got home refreshes!

🚨 UPDATE TRAFFIC SAFETY ALERT | POWER OUTAGE 🚨

Areas of Durango are beginning to regain power, but drivers should remain cautious while traveling through the city.

LPEA Customers along CR-203 from Tremble “AKA Trimble” Lane north to the US-550 connection may still be without power.

Some traffic lights may still be out or flashing red. If traffic lights are flashing red in all directions, treat the intersection as a 4-way stop.

🔴 Stop completely
🔴 Yield to vehicles already stopped
🔴 Take turns
🔴 Proceed only when safe

Please slow down, be patient, and watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other vehicles. We will share additional information as it becomes available.
