We are excited to welcome Ms. Sawyers to the Austin Elementary family! With 12 years of experience in education, most recently in Gwinnett County, she brings a passion for supporting young learners and helping every child succeed.

Ms. Sawyers is excited to meet her new students, build meaningful relationships, and inspire a love of learning. As a member of the Dunwoody community, she is especially grateful for the opportunity to serve the families where she lives and looks forward to partnering with students, parents, and colleagues to help every child learn, grow, and thrive.

🦅💙 Meet our new 3rd Grade teacher, Mrs. Mandy Whitfield!

We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Whitfield to the Austin Elementary family! With 25 years of teaching experience, including 22 years in 3rd grade, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for helping students learn and grow. Most recently, she taught 3rd grade at The Galloway School for three years.

Mrs. Whitfield is excited to join a new community, meet new friends, and become part of the Austin family. We know her experience, dedication, and love for teaching will be a wonderful addition to our 3rd grade team.

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Whitfield enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, completing jigsaw puzzles, and playing soccer. She also loves cheering on the Texas Longhorns with her husband, and their two children.
