Maple Village is a private preschool founded to nurture the social, intellectual, emotional, and physical development of children from the age of 2.9 - 5 years old, serving all of our neighboring communities 🍁 Since 1981, Maple Village Preschool (formerly Dunstable Pre-School) has nurtured the social, intellectual, emotional, and physical development of many pre-school children from the age of 2.9
years old in Dunstable and the sureoundinf community. Janie Cowgill, Lead Teacher, has been teaching at the preschool since 1989. Kristine Oldenburg, Lead Teacher and Director, joined the preschool in 2020. Together, they’ve cultivated a well-rounded program that focuses on the development of fine and gross motor skills, blending many tried-and-true activities with flexibility to accommodate more immediate needs of the children. Smaller-size classes enable the teachers to get to know each child’s family and others who are influential in the child’s life outside of school. Cowgill and Mrs. Oldenburg have created a supportive, dynamic environment at the Preschool. The large, open classroom is filled with a variety of age-appropriate activity centers where children can learn and play. Outside, a spacious, fenced-in playground provides more opportunity for interactive play as well as exercise and fresh air. The teachers encourage social interaction in large and small groups, as well as individualized play and work periods. An attitude of respect for each other, respect for individual differences and an atmosphere of fairness prevail through this learning. Learning goes beyond the classroom, with field trips to local farms and other age-appropriate venues that provide the children with an opportunity to learn about the world around them. Guest speakers include police and fire officials who talk with the children about safety. In-class events with positive themes are scheduled throughout the year and feature a Thanksgiving feast, Pajama Day, and a Grandparent’s Luncheon. Maple Village Preschool does not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, marital status, s*x, national origin, or disabilities. We welcome your child to our school!
