Here’s the updated morning bus schedule as promised. A printed copy will go out this week. Look for it in your kid’s backpack or folder. Or you can always stop by the office, say hi and pick up a copy! Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30-3:30.

Welcome back DES families! On Weds 8/19 @ 3 pm we will have our first Community School/ and Parent Advisory meeting in the Wildcat Den. These are grant programs we have been working on for 3 years now aimed at bringing families and community together to help better serve our students and school. It is open to all families, care takers, extended families, teachers and interested community members. Please join us and share your voice as to what you would like to see in the future at DES! 📚✨ Back to School Night is Almost Here! ✨📚 We can’t wait to welcome our Dunsmuir Elementary families back to campus! 💙🐾 Join us Tuesday, August 11th from 5:00–6:00 PM for an evening of connection, information, and fun! Meet your child’s teacher, explore the amazing programs and supports we offer, kick off our Book Fair, learn about volunteer opportunities, enjoy snow cones, and even enroll new students during the event! Whether you’re a returning family or new to DES, we look forward to seeing you and celebrating the start of another wonderful school year together. 🎒 Don’t forget! Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 12th, and it will be a minimum day. We are so excited to welcome our Wildcats back to campus! Here’s to an amazing 2026–2027 school year—we’ll see you soon! ❤️💙💛💚

🎓 8th Grade Graduation is Today!

Join us tonight as we celebrate our incredible 8th-grade graduates and the exciting next chapter of their journey.

Doors open at 5:45 PM and the procession begins at 6 PM. Upon arrival, guests will receive a program outlining the evening’s events.

We look forward to honoring the hard work, growth, and achievements of our students. Come celebrate this special milestone with us!

Last Week of School Events! 🎉

We’re excited to celebrate the final week of an amazing school year! Here’s what’s happening June 1–5:

📚 Minimum Days All Week
All students will be on a minimum-day schedule from Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5.

- TK–2nd Grade: Dismissal at 12:45 PM
- 3rd–8th Grade: Dismissal at 1:00 PM

🥾 3rd–5th Grade Field Trip – Wednesday, June 3rd
On Wednesday, our 3rd–5th grade students will be heading to Castle Crags to explore the Sulphur Creek Trail. We hope they enjoy a fun day of learning and adventure outdoors!

🎓 8th Grade Graduation – Thursday, June 4th
Join us on Thursday as we celebrate our graduating 8th-grade class! The ceremony begins at 6:00 PM. We invite families and community members to come honor our students as they take the next exciting step in their educational journey.

🌊🍔 Water Day & BBQ – Friday, June 5th
Friday is the last day of school, and we’re ending the year with our annual Water Day and BBQ, beginning at 11:00 AM. Everyone is welcome to join the fun and celebrate another successful school year!

Thank you for a wonderful year. We’re finishing strong and looking forward to a fantastic week of celebration and memories!
