✨ It's Star Wars day - so May the 4th be with you!

Like so many directors, George Lucas, is dyslexic!

He uses his Dyslexic Thinking skills of Imagining and Visualising to create incredible worlds, iconic characters and fantastical stories.

Other incredible dyslexics who use the power of their imagination to bring stories to life include Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee - and of course the wonderful Liv Tyler who stars in our new animated short film 'What is dyslexia?'

Before a child can decode a written word, something has to happen in the brain first.

They need to learn that spoken words are made up of individual sounds.

That cat isn’t one unit of sound, but three: c, a, t.

That those sounds can be pulled apart, blended, swapped, and rebuilt.

This skill, called phonemic awareness, is the invisible foundation beneath every word a child will ever read or spell.

For children with dyslexia, this foundational work is especially important. When it’s taught carefully, sequentially, and without rushing, something shifts. Decoding starts to click. Spelling starts to make sense. Words that once felt locked begin to open up.

Every strong reader, dyslexic or not, builds on this foundation. For children who have struggled, finally having it built properly can feel like the beginning of everything.

This is the approach behind the Barton Reading & Spelling System. Want to learn more? Tap on the link in our bio or visit www.bartonreading.com

Summer break is almost here…and while every child deserves rest and fun, it’s worth knowing that students can lose up to two months of reading progress over the summer.

For a child who has been working hard to build their reading skills, that setback can be really discouraging.

The good news is that it doesn’t take much to prevent it.

A consistent daily session can protect all the progress your child has made and even help them keep growing.

Picture your child walking into the new school year reading better than when they left. That’s absolutely within reach.

Drop a ❤️ below if you’re committed to keeping the momentum going this summer!
