Happy National Boss’s Day to Dr. Beth Metcalf!

The Plain View Elementary Eagle family would like to recognize and celebrate Dr. Metcalf for her leadership, vision, and dedication to Sampson County Schools!

Although new to our district, Dr. Metcalf is already making a meaningful impact through her genuine support, commitment to excellence, and passion for ensuring every student and staff member has the opportunity to succeed.

Great leadership is about more than leading a district; it's about building relationships, inspiring others, and creating a shared vision for success. We appreciate Dr. Metcalf's willingness to listen, encourage, and lead with purpose.

Thank you, Dr. Metcalf, for believing in our schools, supporting our educators, and championing the students we serve! We are grateful for your leadership and look forward to all we will accomplish together!

Every Eagle. Every Day.
You Belong Here! 💛🖤💛🦅❤️

As we wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re grateful for the meaningful learning and special moments we shared at Plain View Elementary!

Thank you to our PTO for treating our students to delicious churros and our teachers to Taco Tuesday. A special thank-you to Mrs. Elmore for bringing the elote cart for our teachers to enjoy!

Throughout the month, students learned about cultures and traditions from around the world. Our school decorations and these hands-on experiences helped bring that learning to life. Take a look at our photos to see some of the ways we celebrated!

Teacher Workday = Growing Together, Leading Together, Soaring Together!

Everyone needs a champion! Sometimes, one person believing in another can change the trajectory of a life.

Today, our Eagle staff participated in professional development that gave us time to learn, reflect, connect, and grow together. Through our theme, “Two Educators. Two Approaches,” and the movie Matilda, we explored how relationships, leadership, and the way we respond to students shape not only school culture but also the lives of the children entrusted to us.

One powerful reminder came from the cake scene in Matilda. As Bruce struggles to accomplish what seems impossible, Matilda begins cheering him on. Soon, others join her, and Bruce begins to believe in himself. The cake didn't get smaller, and the challenge didn't get easier, but Bruce found the strength to keep going because someone believed in him.

What a powerful reminder of the influence we have as educators! Every child needs someone who sees their potential, encourages them through challenges, holds them to high expectations, and reminds them that they are capable of more than they realize. Sometimes, one voice of encouragement is all it takes to change a child's outlook, confidence, and future.

Today strengthened more than our professional knowledge. It strengthened our relationships, our bond as a team, and our shared commitment to champion our students and one another. The words we speak, the relationships we build, and the choices we make each day matter.

At Plain View, we want Every Eagle, Every Day to know without a doubt—You Belong Here! And when challenges come, we want our students to know they have an entire Eagle family cheering them on!

Learning, Leadership, and Character 💛🖤💛🦅❤️

What a fun Math STEM day! Students created their own Amazon shipping containers to hold 24 unit cubes using multiplication, division and very limited materials. The task? Get your box from point A to point B without it breaking or spilling anything. Don’t forget to ask your fifth grade kiddo about the FedEx worker that came to class Friday while Mrs. G “stepped out” for a moment. 😉
