The forecast called for rain… and lots of it 🌧️ But that didn’t stop our student-athletes from showing up at 7:30 a.m. to volunteer at Mile Marker 7 for the Steamtown Marathon!

From passing out water to cheering on runners and helping with cleanup, they powered through the soggy conditions with positive attitudes and plenty of teamwork.

Representatives from Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Scranton's healthcare program participated in NEPA Area Health Education Center's 5th Annual Healthcare Career & College Exploration event at the Viewmont Mall, Dickson City.

This morning, Penn State Hazleton hosted a Meet and Greet for Penn State Regional Chancellor Menah Pratt JD, PhD with community leaders, area professionals, educators, and Penn State administrators.

Dr. Pratt shared her commitment to learning more about northeast Pennsylvania — from its rich history to the communities and people who make this region unique.

Since arriving, she has demonstrated that commitment through an impressive 350 meetings in 50 days, creating opportunities to listen, learn, and connect with people throughout the region.

Dr. Pratt also shared her vision for the Penn State Regional Leadership Academy, an educational initiative focused on developing the next generation of leaders.

The proposed program would provide dual enrollment opportunities for rising high school juniors and seniors, with an emphasis on STEAM, business and healthcare education along with leadership development.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and supporting opportunities that connect Penn State, our students, and the broader northeast Pennsylvania community.
