Warrior Word Warrior Word is the Pocahontas County High School monthly newspaper. Students are encouraged to write, design, and edit the newspaper.

Warrior Word gives students the opportunity to enhance their writing and vary their writing style.

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a good start to the school year! There has been a slight change, Ms. Poppe is now our sponsor! I'm still looking for new recruits if any of you know of anyone interested. I will talk to Ms. Poppe about having a meeting during school soon, brainstorming topics for stories, and hopefully we can have our first issue out for September! I'll post any developments about having a meeting or giving out article assignments. Thank you as always :)

Congratulations to the student who won medals in the Skills USA Competition!
Travis Taylor got second place in Carpentry.
Fredricah Gardner got first place in her competition.
And the students in the Teamswork competition got third place.

Hey, Warrior Word staff, the deadline is Wednesday! Please get your stories, pictures, and illustrations in to me as soon as possible! I apologize, I have seemed to permanently misplaced my Warrior Word notebook and I do not have anyone's assignments written down. Perhaps I will scourge the Lost and Found on Tuesday, but until then, if you have any questions about your assignment, just ask and I will do my best.

Hey, everyone! Warrior Word had a meeting last Friday; the newspaper also came out last Friday and I hope you all read it! Here's a list of the assignments we did and did not discuss that are still open for people to write for the November 10 deadline.
Band Goes to ACCs
FFA Goes to Nationals
Soccer Sectionals
End of Football Season
(If anyone would like to throw in something about cheerleading,
volleyball, golf, etc. Let me know!)
Dr. Bechtel-Interim School Superintendent (I will get contact
information for anyone who would like to do this story/interview)
Alrighty, let me know what you would like to have if you don't have anything to write yet. If you need reminded of what your assignment is, let me know that as well. Once everyone has claimed a story I will post a list of everything that is being done for this month. Lastly, if anyone has any other ideas, don't be shy to throw them in the mix. Thank you all!

If any students would like their spirit week photos printed in the school newspaper, please submit them by Wednesday, October 2 to Amanda Gibson, Joey Friel, Mrs. VanReenan or any other Warrior Word staff member. We accept printed photos, photos saved on flash drives, emails or messages sent to the Warrior Word page. There is no guarantee of use depending on size, space and quality. I hope everyone who decided to join Warrior Word last Friday at the Club Fair has liked the Warrior Word page! Clubs will hopefully be held this Friday and Warrior Word will be having a meeting. Joey and Amanda will be giving out the first assignments of the year, a tentative Warrior Word schedule and a scarce list of assignments ideas for the rest of the year! See all the new staff writers then!
