Our 12 month before/after school program offers the school age child a break from the school day; a place to relax and have fun with friends and opportunities to explore and learn in a safe, secure, modern learning environment. Children stay busy and stimulated by a wide range of daily, planned child-directed activities in which fun and learning go together. Our certified teachers provide students

with tutoring and homework help in addition to STEM activities! Our Pre-Kindergarten Enrichment Program focuses on a variety of developmentally appropriate academic activities including language arts, math, social studies, and science with emphasis on social, emotional, and physical development. By starting early and learning new skills along the way, your child will have a strong start to the exciting years of learning that lies ahead.

Sight words!!!
During Our Summer Fun Camp program, we are taking the next step to help your child learn to read. Being able to recognize sight words is important because these words make up between 50-70% of the words we encounter in text. Many of these words cannot be “sounded out”. Learning sight words can be fun! We know children learn best when we use multi-sensory strategies. This means that children are more likely to learn and remember when we provide opportunities to use as many of the senses as possible when we teach a skill.

Summer Fun Camp!
Our Food exploration week is encouraging campers to whip up new recipes while exploring the culinary world. On Friday, our kitchen chemists will experiment with mixing different ingredients to decorate extraordinary desserts with a local baker! We are encouraging discovery and creativity, and allowing campers to explore foods in a fun way!

LEARNING IS SWEET!!
We are using candy as a motivational tool for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities! It's amazing the amount of focus when we use sweets for materials, so we created a bundle of activities for edible Engineering. The kids are sure to sit up straight and listen when they see the “equipment” they will be using to solve problems this week. From Swedish fish to Pop Rocks, this is a tasty week for candy experiments.

Firefighter Tom visited Dunmore Kids to educate kids about fire safety!
The kids learned safety awareness tips and got an up-close-and-personal look at the fireman's gear. They also watched a demonstration of a firefighter suiting up, just like they do at the station during an emergency call. Thank you, Fireman Tom!
