🍂 Feeling more tired, low, or unmotivated as fall sets in? You're not imagining it.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) often starts in autumn. In the Northern Hemisphere, Earth is tilting away from the sun, so our days are getting shorter. On November 1, clocks fall back an hour, which means darker evenings right when many of us are leaving work or school.

Less sunlight can affect mood, energy, sleep, and your body's internal clock.

Three simple ways to support yourself this season:

☀️ Ask your doctor about checking your vitamin D levels and whether a supplement makes sense for you
💡 Try light therapy: a 10,000-lux light box used in the morning is one of the most researched treatments for SAD (check with your doctor first, especially if you have bipolar disorder or an eye condition)
😴 Keep a consistent sleep schedule, even on weekends: same bedtime, same wake time, morning light when you can get it

Music can help too. A morning playlist and daily practice time give your brain structure and something to look forward to on darker days. 🎶

Save this for later and share it with someone who struggles when the days get shorter. 💛

If you're feeling hopeless or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Su***de & Crisis Lifeline).
