We had so much fun welcoming all of our new students and families to Orientation today! After so much preparation and anticipation, it was wonderful to see our classrooms filling up, our hallways buzzing with excitement, and our new campus truly coming to life.

We are so excited for everything ahead and can’t wait to officially begin this new chapter together!

Today, the Discovery Academy of Science North Campus Administrative Team proudly welcomed our teachers for the first day of pre-planning!

We are especially excited to be back at our former campus in Dunedin and to see the building once again filled with dedicated educators preparing for the new school year.

Throughout pre-planning, our teachers will be preparing their classrooms, reviewing curriculum, collaborating with colleagues, and getting everything ready for our students. Our new teachers will also receive training on DAS systems, procedures, and instructional expectations.

We have a full house, and the energy and excitement across campus are truly inspiring. We cannot wait to welcome our students and families to DAS North Campus and begin this exciting new chapter together!

Our VEX Robotics Summer Camp at DAS North is off to an amazing start!

Students in grades 2 and 3 spent their first day learning about VEX Robotics, working in pairs, and building their own base bots. After successfully creating robots that could drive, they added claw attachments and began testing what their designs could do.

One camper proudly summed it up by saying, “I actually built a robot!” That excitement is exactly what hands-on STEM learning is all about. 🤖✨

The A+ tradition continues at Discovery Academy of Science!

Based on Spring 2026 statewide assessment scores and the 2025–26 Florida School Grades data, DAS is again an A+ school and once again earned an “A” school grade.

DAS earned:
🏆 #1 among Pinellas K–8 public charter schools🏆 #2 Overall among Pinellas K–8 / Combination schools
⭐ 807 out of 1,000 total points
⭐ 81% of total possible points
⭐ “A+” school grade

DAS finished just 1 point behind the #1 ranked K–8 school overall while outperforming the first-place school in 5 scoring components:

We are also proud to support Pinellas County Schools and the Pinellas County School Board as the district celebrates earning an “A” grade for the third year in a row. DAS is honored to be part of such an outstanding school district community.

Public charter schools continue to contribute to Pinellas County’s academic success. In this K–8 comparison, there are 11 K–8 public charter schools, and charter schools earned 4 of the Top 5 placements.

Application Form Discovery Academy of Science – North Campus is now accepting applications for the 2026–27 school year, with classes beginning in August 2026.

Discovery Academy of Science students delivered exceptional Spring 2026 performance across Pinellas Countywide Scores.

From FAST Reading and FAST Math to Writing, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and Civics, DAS students earned multiple top placements across the county.

DAS achieved:

It is also important to recognize that some of the schools appearing alongside DAS in the Top 5 are magnet or gifted-only programs. Discovery Academy of Science, however, is a tuition-free public charter school that does not select students academically. DAS students are admitted through a random lottery process when applications exceed available seats.

Public charter schools are making a strong contribution to Pinellas County’s academic success. In Grades 6–8 FAST Reading and Math, Pinellas charter schools earned 45% of Top 10 placements in the reviewed countywide lists.
